I can trace back to the exact point where my path began to take shape:
Birth (Hamilton) > Orchestra > Band Camp > Toronto > Halifax > Travel > Hamilton > Mohawk College > ???
Music was my beginning. First the piano, then the violin, the baritone, the bass guitar, and finally the good ol’ doghouse bass, my youth was spent sifting through sheet music. Unfortunately, I haven’t given myself the opportunity to pick up an instrument for several years, but it will always be a part of me nonetheless.
School has widened my horizons more than I ever imagined. The Recreation and Leisure Services program is this magical umbrella of education. It can lead into a career in travel or adventure tourism, education, fitness, healthcare (and the list goes on), working with anyone ages 0-99+. And I love it.
And that’s also why I’m here at Art Forms. This is my first co-op placement during my studies at Mohawk and I absolutely adore every second; from the moment I step through the door at 126 James St N until I leave.
I look forward to spending more time at Art Forms. You can find me at Voices every Wednesday evening or nose deep in homework at Homegrown.
